Happy Hump-Day!

Since I’m trying to manage multiple blogs right now I have decided to keep several of them together at wordpress. I’m not thrilled with some fo the new “upgrade” services, no one really likes being nickeled and dimed. I’ll do as much as I can on the free side of this and just sort of go from there and see what happens. I’m going to do my best to keep this blog strictly “Officeman” and only blog about my Officeman alter-ego.

Good Morning, I’m currently out of the office and sitting on the balcony listening to the roaring waves waiting on my girlfriend to finish making the pancakes inside. We got down here last night and it was a little cool, but not too cold…probably around 55. It’s nicer today, but we’re expecting rain later today. Going to see my girlfriend’s aunt in a little bit and get her out for lunch. The house is nice and is a single family unit so there aren’t any neighbors to bother. I’m probably about 200 yards from the waves…can’t beat that. Sure kicks my new cubicle’s ass. I’ll check back in later. Hope everyone is having a nice day.

I got a new workspace today

I finally got a new place to work in our office today! After more than a year of sitting in a call center room with people making and receiving tons of calls they have decided to move me out of there. I can’t imagine why they haven’t done this in the past? Probably because I write reports and deal with numbers all day and actually have to concentrate on what I’m doing. That’s why I’d put someone like that to work and sit them in the call center. No more bitching about this! The silence was deafening and I was able to concentrate and focus on what I was doing for a much longer period of time before my ADD kicked in. I have workspace, cabinets and drawers that lock, it’s wonderful.

Does this mean that OfficeMan will be sunshine and daisies in all of his blogs (that he writes in 3rd person)?….

No! I work there tomorrow, but will not be back in the office until Tuesday. I’m thinking by a week from today I’ll have plenty of new cynicism to share with my two readers. Alas! A new workspace is the Sh*t!

Day Two at the gym

So Friday night after work I decided to go join a health club by my house. I got signed up and paid and then ran home to change and head back for my first workout. I wanted to just get acclimated so I started out in the gym shooting some hoops. No one was even in there! I couldn’t believe it! A gym to myself to shoot baskets in! The first dribble I think the ball is flat but shoot it anyway…it just sticks..after ripping through the net. The entire court is dead…the floor sucks and it’s as fun as playing with a flat ball. I guess I don’t have to worry about any street-ball pick up games in there. I continued on with my workout after about 10 minutes of chasing down every shot and rebound on that floor. There is also an aerobics mirror on one entire side of the court so I can see how shitty I look playing basketball these days. My goal is to either drop 50 lbs and/or 4 inches from my waist in 12 months. Only 362 days to go!

Obama Day

I got in and got to work on my reports this morning first thing. I saw some of the inauguration online this morning and found the funniest clip to be H.W. playing grab ass with one of the guards. I also got an email from school today and realized that I’d been approved for an internship but had not registered for it so I had to do that. What I don’t get is why I’m now having to pay $795 to work for someone else and the University does jack shit about my internship other than 5 minutes worth of entries into a computer. If that’s the case…I’d pay another $1590 and be done with my degree all together.

I went to lunch today at a little place down the road and got some killer buffalo tenders and ranch.

I’m excited to see what having a new President does to the overall morale of our country and how long the excitement lasts before the 232 year old bureacracy remains as stagnant as the water in New Orleans. I really hope it’s a positive step for America. We’ll soon find out.
